Health defined by Ayurveda is holistic in nature as it looks at you as a whole person and not just a sum of individual parts. Ayurveda has gifted us relevant, practical, and empowering knowledge, as well as the insight and tools to help us at each stage of our lives. It is broad enough to focus on prevention to keep us healthy and free from disease, yet also provides us with the guidance to manage mind/body imbalances.
Rather than treating symptoms alone, Ayurveda provides a comprehensive balance by acting at the root level of the problem and not at the symptomatic level. Ayurveda says that our bodies are generally naturally healthy. However, we are ingesting toxins on a regular basis whether it’s our food, air, water, and our day-to-day activities (both physical and emotional).
The toxicity in our bodies is further exacerbated by negative relationships, stressful jobs, unhealthy lifestyles, and a lack of spiritual input and experiences. All of these factors increase the formation of toxins, which are a by-product of undigested matter in our bodies that lodge in our tissues. These toxins eventually become the cause and the breeding ground for many diseases.
Once we clean out the toxins and lose excess weight, our body’s natural mechanism will clean out our fat tissues, open the subtle channels, bring life-enhancing energy, and therefore increases vitality, inner peace, confidence, and overall well-being.
